Miss Australia's Costume a 'Joke'

Postby ladyDeWint » Thu Jul 29, 2010 12:22 pm

An outlandish outfit designed to represent Australia at the Miss Universe beauty contest has been branded "a national joke" and "a travesty".

It would all look better without the "flamenco-style skirt". The girl herself looks good!

The only problem is, Australia being so young a country, doesn't have a national costume, although i suppose she wouldn't look too bad in a loin cloth. :whis:

I don't agree with beauty contests, or baby contests, or crufts.

Thanks, Barry - once you mentioned "dog show" that jogged my memory and I had heard of it.
I always thought things like baby shows were a funny idea - until my beautiful little grandchildren came along (last year) and when I look at them I think "They'd win a baby show!" One of them would win any baby-yelling contest.

I watched Miss world a couple of times and decided that there were better looking women walking around everywhere. Baby shows? well all babies are lovely, and Crufts those poor dogs go through hell to be dragged in front of those judges. I can't see the point of any of it.

I agree with Valk, I once watched a docu on Crufts and felt so very sorry for the dogs. Mind you if the owners didn't have the dogs to be Obsessive compulsive about they might put their attention to say, ' Political correctness' or 'human rights for prisoners', so best left with their pets.
