Complaints Over Treatment of Koran in Eastenders

Postby ladyDeWint » Fri Jul 23, 2010 2:53 pm

EastEnders bosses have defended a scene in which a Muslim character slammed down a copy of the Koran after scores of complaints from viewers.

Fans have watched gay Syed Masood, played by Marc Elliott, struggle with his love for Christian Clarke (John Partridge) in the face of disapproval from his devout family.

Syed was seen to drop the religious text in frustration.

The millions who didn't complain don't count, as usual! Minority rule. :-x

Nobody seems to complain about the fashionable habit of wearing rosary beads as a necklace.
Ask yourself why, then post the answer.

I am just fed up with having to watch two blokes slobbering all over each other on the Tele, we know that the characters are gay, why do they have to show us. :-x

I agree, Val.
Broadcasters should respect the fact that there are certain things that many or most people just don't want to see...whether these things are "politically correct" or not
Britain is my "mother", America is my "lover". Who can ask for anything more!

It seems to be international. We have our German version of Coronation Street (Lindenstrasse) - the street seems to be filled with Homosexuals, Lesbens, drug addicts and criminals. There are a couple of "normal" people, but even they seem to be carrying on with someone else's wife or husband.

It makes me laugh at the way they are all in and out of each others houses interfering, most people do not even know their neighbors all that well, especially in London I would imagine. Then when we start getting a bit bored with the whole thing they chuck in not one but a couple of murders.

So true Val - I could kill Lucas myself at the moment in East Enders - and now he has shut his wife down in some cellar. But we have to keep looking don't we, at least I do.

If we wanted real life we could just look out the window, I think Lucas is great, he's not your two dimensional villian we usually get portrayed in soaps.

True, I just wonder what he has actually killed so far. I went off him when he killed the dog.
